New mooring at Sunderland Point

We have moved Spray to a new mooring at Sunderland Point at the mouth of the River Lune.

Sunderland Point is a historic eighteenth century quay that traded with the West Indies and America. It is approached by a tidal road.

The new mooring should enable us to give us better access to Morecambe Bay enabling us to make short half day sails more easily than from Glasson Marina. We can also sail up river to Glasson

Spray will kept on land at Glasson Sailing Club in winter. Storage costs at the Sailing Club are about a third of the cost of the Marina. We hope to bring Spray to Morecambe in 2027.

We would like to find Phil Smith of Sunderland Point for helping us lay the mooring.
